Saturday, February 28, 2026 | St. James the Apostle, Trumansburg Retreat leaders: Matthew and Lizzy Hall and Father George Bastedo IV
Life is full of choices—some exciting, some confusing, many of them important, others less so. How do we know which path to take? Whether you’re deciding on a major or career, wondering if you’re ready for the next step in a relationship, discerning marriage or religious life, or just trying to make sense of what God wants from you right now—this day is for you.
The Day of Recollection on “Making (Tough) Decisions” is a chance to step back from the noise, get off campus, and listen more deeply to how God is speaking in your life. Through conferences, prayer, and time for reflection, we’ll explore how faith, freedom, and practical wisdom come together in the art of making good decisions.

Retreat Leader: Fr. Erik Lenhart, OFM Cap. With participation of Capuchin candidates
Get out of the grind and reset at this retreat at St. Fidelis Friary. Led by Capuchin friars, the retreat is deliberately simple and not over-programmed—leaving time to unplug, pray, hike, talk, and slow down, making space for generous rest and an encounter with God.
The Busy Person’s (Student) Retreat was created by the late Cardinal Joseph Bernadin of Chicago. Essentially it is designed for the busy college student who is unable to attend or afford a weekend retreat. It is a unique opportunity for the individual to deepen their relationship with God in a way that fits into their busy lives and schedules. Interested students will sign up to participate in the retreat through Campus Ministry. I will assign each student to a Sister Spiritual Guide, and together they will set up a schedule to meet for four sessions. All of the participants will receive a retreat booklet either from your Campus Minister or on-line. Throughout the retreat, the student and their Sister Spiritual Guide will each devote themselves to a half an hour of personal prayer and reflection using the retreat booklet and then they will meet for a half an hour, probably on ZOOM or whatever app that works best for them, for four different times.
The Spiritual Guides will be Sisters of St. Joseph of Rochester, NY, who have experience in being a Spiritual Guide for a Busy Person Retreat, and who will volunteer their time to offer this retreat opportunity for a busy college student like you.
