Catholic preorientation program 2026
Start your Cornell journey with prayer, friendship, and adventure.
The Catholic Pre-Orientation Program (CPOP) is a chance for incoming students to arrive early, settle into campus life, and build lasting friendships before Orientation begins. Together, we'll celebrate Mass, pray, share meals, enjoy the beauty of Cayuga Lake, and reflect on the opportunities and challenges of beginning college.
The program includes time at the St. Fidelis Friary Boathouse on Cayuga Lake, where students will enjoy outdoor activities, conversations around the campfire, opportunities for Adoration and Confession, and plenty of time to connect with fellow freshmen and current students.
Whether you have been active in your faith your whole life or are simply looking for a community grounded in friendship and prayer, CPOP is an opportunity to begin your Cornell experience with purpose and support!

*Your early move-in time will be coordinated on your behalf by the Cornell Catholic Community. Please do not email the Housing Office directly!
5:15 PM Opening Mass at Sage Chapel, Ho Plaza, Central Campus
Dinner & departure for the boathouse
Monday, August 17 highlights- Daily Mass
- Eucharistic Adoration and Confession
- Lakeside campfires and cookouts
- Kayaking and lakefront recreation
- Small-group discussions
- Friendship with fellow Cornell students
- Introduction to the Cornell Catholic Community
9:00 AM Closing Mass and concluding reflections“Lord, teach us how to pray.”
